ROCHA: A CITY TO THE INCLUSION
Earlier in the month of September 2008 we visited, as spectators, the Fair Department of Science and Technology. There were a number of projects on different topics, each more interesting. On one side of the room was a girl who explained to him all who approached him. We wondered, "How did it get here?", This question was not to doubt his intellectual capacity to be present, but because he was in a wheelchair. The Institute Teacher training was conducted where the Fair is a modern building (opened in July 1984) and the only way to access it is up to 8 steps of entry. Rita Costa Mederos the rose in arms to re-sit in his chair, otherwise, could not participate.
Our concern was in us and begin to look more closely at our surroundings and remember Facundo Ortiz 12, freshman in our school. Born with a spinal cord problem, going to school in a wheelchair and sometimes using batons to take small steps. To all this we wonder why his mom is in recess at school?
From this comes our concerns and this project: our city is sensitive to the physical difficulties of its inhabitants? Are they really free people with physical disabilities? They are not a race, not a religion but they are discriminated against by the rest of society.
We set the following overall objective: To disseminate our research for people of our city are aware of the problem addressed. The specific objectives determined by raising awareness so as to ensure that at least one school, a municipal agency and trade of the city to commit to change any part of your infrastructure that is accessible to a disabled driver.
us in the event Your Ideas Valen that rewards innovative youth projects and we were one of the winning projects, and am delighted that we will understand.
As for the projection of our work, we can tell you that we were able to be received at a meeting of the Departmental Board, where we raise our concerns and work together towards fulfilling our goals, especially that municipal agency determines that a change infrastructure so as to be accessible. Departmental Board today presented the changes.
We were invited by the host of the program where we could Microeducativo tell our project to the society in general trying to sensitize it, to start work for the realization of the above-named specific objective with respect to the accessibility of businesses in our city.
As to school we were met by the architect of ANEP in Rocha who is willing to help us in whatever we need, and analyze the situation of schools in our department is to find a solution to problems of inaccessibility.
There is much to do, but we want to be a pimple on the formation of an egalitarian society. Rossana
Cabral (this bill was introduced in Your Ideas Valen 2008 where the awards were a major and since then have our support for the realization of your project)
